Sarasota Alliance Church

 

The first part of our name is “SARASOTA.” That’s not just our mailing address—that’s our mission field.
 
Jesus’ last command to His followers was “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem…”  (for them, it was their home. Our home town includes Sarasota and Manatee Counties). That’s where we start because that’s where we are. We live among and rub shoulders with hundreds of thousands of people who just don’t get it that they can’t get to heaven by being good. But they can get to heaven by accepting God’s Son as their Savior.  We’ve got good news for them.

The middle part of our name is “ALLIANCE.” God brought us together from all kinds of birthplaces and backgrounds and made us an “alliance” of Christians teaming up to accomplish a mission none of us could accomplish alone.  We are an “alliance” in that we not only carry out our mission in Sarasota / Manatee but to the ends of the earth through our participation in the worldwide work of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Every week we get to rejoice with the angels in heaven as we hear of people coming to Christ in our community and on every continent.
 
The last part of our name is “CHURCH.”  As a church we are called by the Lord to worship Him and encourage and build up one another so that we can be effective “ambassadors” representing our King and expanding His Kingdom. It’s a church, not a club. A club exists to serve its members. A church exists to serve those around us who desperately need what we have—the Lord Jesus.

That’s what Sarasota Alliance Church is – and why we believe that God has called us to “exalt Christ and Love People”.
